Easter 2022
God on Mute
As we approach Easter, we are following Pete Greig’s ‘God on Mute’ in our sermons. The book originally uses the narrative shape of Holy Week to ask three questions:
How am I going to get through this?
Why aren’t my prayers being answered?
Where is God when heaven is silent?
Lent is the perfect time to lean into the silence of unanswered prayer and we are really interested to see how our faith deepens in this time.
We really do recommend purchasing and reading the book as we go through the series. Do consider the ethical implications of where you buy it from, why not buy a second-hand copy or using an online Christian bookstore?
Stories
During this series, we will be hearing stories from members of our congregation about how they have coped through hard times. We are so grateful for their insight into the experience of wrestling with God and want to thank them for sharing their stories with us.

The Unanswered Prayer Course
In our small groups, we will be exploring the Unanswered Prayer Course together. This is a five week course written by Pete Greig and produced by 24/7 Prayer, based on the book ‘God on Mute’. It is excellent and can be done individually or as a household if you are not currently in a small group.

Holy Week Experience
As we did last year, we will culminate our reflections in Lent with a Holy Week Experience. This is an immersive walk-through prayer experience that will last around 45 minutes. You can book to join us with your friends, with your small group, or alone.
Last year we loved Spiritual Health Checks, short zoom calls to intentionally discuss how our faith is going whilst we were in lockdown. This year, as part of the Holy Week Experience itself, we invite you to sit with one of our team to chat and pray for ten minutes about how you have journeyed through the questions we are posing in Lent.
From Tuesday 12th April to Thursday 14th April there will be hourly slots from 2pm-7pm. On Good Friday (15th April), Holy Week Experience slots will commence from 11am to 4pm.
Dates for your diary
Make sure not only to book on to the Holy Week Experience, but plan to come and join us at our Good Friday All In Service, our Sunrise Service on St Cat’s Hill on Easter morning or one of our three Easter Day celebrations.
